Abstract

Objective: To show the pattern of stress fracture in foot and ankle in children, in exams done in Hospital Albert Einstein orthopaedic radiology department between 2006 and 2009. Methods: The authors analyze epidemiologically 20 consecutive patients with foot and ankle stress fractures, related to regular activities. Results: Authors observe a pattern of more than one bone with stress changes in 80% of the population, and the more frequently involved bones are talus, calcaneous and navicular. Conclusion: A different pattern of stress fracture involvement is present in pediatric patients, considering more than one bone in 80% of the patients.
