Idiopathic avascular necrosis of the head and the neck of the talus

Avascular necrosis of the talus is a rare condition usually associated with fractures of talar neck, which affects the dome. Presented the case of a 60-year-old male patient who consulted by pain in anterior-medial region of the left foot of 4 years of evolution, which had been previously treated with detentions and pain relievers without achieving any improvement. After a physical examination and imaging studies showed a severe necrosis of head and neck talar as well as important signs of talo-navicular osteonecrosis. He was taken to surgery where held you a triple Arthrodesis by dual approach with cannulated screws. Postoperative follow-up was one year with proper alignment and function of the foot, signs of Revascularization of the talus and an optimal reintegration of the patient to their activities, without pain.
