Melorreostose dos ossos do pé
Abstract
Melorheostosis is a rare, nonfamilial condition that causes hyperostosis of the cortical bone. lt is usually unilateral and involves long bones but also occurs in vertebrae, skull, jaw and ribs. Both the periosteum and endosteum of the diaphyseal cortical bone are usually involved and there are different types of associated soft-tissue changes including vascular malformations, neurofibromas, scleroderma and subcutaneous fibrosis. The authors present a rare case of melorheostosis in the foot which prognosis may be worsening because it affects weight-bearing bones.
